Mother’s Day Weekend

It all started Friday, when I had this crazy idea to make Pioneer Woman Cinnamon rolls for Robby’s family. His sister and I were planning a Mother’s day breakfast. It is not really difficult, but just time consuming. It also takes longer when you start off putting the wrong amount of milk for the dough. If anyone was wondering how many cups make up a quart, it is 4 NOT 8!! I finally realized this when I put 8 cups of flour in it, and the dough was still soupy. I had to start ALL over. There might have been a few tears and not nice words, but I got over it. I finally completed the dough phase of the cinnamon rolls around 3:30. I placed the dough in the refrigerator, because I had a date with Robby and Quinn at City Centre for Mother’s day.

We ate dinner at Ruggles Green because it had a nice patio. Quinn is getting difficult to take out to eat these days, so we try to eat outside because he is distracted. We enjoyed our dinner and let Quinn walk/crawl around outside. I only took a couple of pictures with Quinn on the iphone.

And he was done.

I had to get home to finish the cinnamon rolls. When I opened up the refrigerator to get the dough this is what I found…..

The dough got a little out of control!

I decided to do the second phase with my mother. It really is a two person job to make these things.

They are completed!! Thank you Mom for helping me!!

The Mother’s day weekend continues on Saturday morning. My sister and I took my Mom to the Houstonian for breakfast. It was YUMMY!! I think we are going to have to make it an annual breakfast. She definitely deserves it! I am so blessed to have an amazing mother. She is so special to me and I thank the Lord for our sweet relationship. Words can’t even express on how much she means to me!! Love you, MOM!!

Finally, the Mother’s Day weekend ends in College Station for the big Mother’s Day Breakfast. Callie made fruit and a wonderful egg casserole, and then I brought the Cinnamon rolls. We had such a great time!! I love the Schleider Family.
